Beauty Tip of the Day - Get Your Glow Back!! Exfoliators

I'm back!!!! Wow, it feels like I haven't blogged in a while. I've been away, got some much needed rest and relaxation and now I'm back to the daily grind!

Which means my daily tips and blogs are back!! Yey!!! I've been hauling and testing products while I've been away so I've got lots to tell you about.

This week I wanted to talk about getting your glow back.
For me there's a lot contributing to why I have lost my glow over the past 6 months -

* Poor Diet
* No Exercise - Both contributing to a 2 stone weight gain and awful skin!!!
* Weather - leaving my skin dry and dull
* Alcohol - with the December holidays, nights out and a holiday I have drank more than usual, this has contributed to me being bloated, putting weight on, and dehydrating my skin
* General everyday life

So I need a drastic change, not just to make me glow on the outside but the inside as well. What do I mean by glow? Well literally, glowing, healthy skin. I'm sure you've noticed with your own skin when your on a good diet you skin looks so good, it's healthy, nourished, make up glides on and looks perfect, but you can also glow from the inside out. For me, glowing from the inside when I'm on a good diet means I feel healthy, I'm not tired, and I'm much happier but it's the opposite when I'm feeling like I am now.

So where do we begin, all the above has to change but as I'm changing my diet and exercise etc I've also changed my skincare routine which I'm going to talk you through over the next few days.

So the beauty tip today is to exfoliate your skin once a week.

For my face I'm using No. 7 Beautiful Skin £8.50
I have only used this once so far and I instantly loved the results, I applied it to damp skin and removed with a muslin cloth. It left my face smooth, and it didn't feel dry which is a problem I have found with some facial exfoliators. Another bonus I had the boots £5 off no.7 skincare so it was only £3.50!! Bargin!!

For my body I'm using Soap & Glorys Pulp Friction £8.00
I have used this for about a year if not longer, it's my favourite scrub, it smells gorgeous and leaves my skin so smooth. Another great thing about this product is that it goes into a lather so you only need a small amount, so one bottle lasts for ages, great value for money. If you like to fake tan, this is a great exfoliator to prep the skin.

Hope your now one step closer to getting you glow back!

Let me know what exfoliators are you favourite at the moment! Or maybe what your doing if you've lost your glow.

Beauty Tip of the Day - Award Season - Don't be afraid of a pop of Colour!

I loved Kaley Cuoco's make up for the Golden Globes!! It's so different and refreshing to see a smokey eye with a pop of colour rather than the normal smokey blacks, grey, browns, nudes etc. Kaley's make up artist decided to go for a Emerald Green smokey eye to bring out the colour in her amazing gown.

I was really surprised to hear she used Avons Glimmerstick £6.00 Emerald (picture below in blue) to add the pop of colour to the eye, along with other products, but it shows how affordable celebrity looks can be.

What's good about this product is that is so versatile, you could use it for the whole eye, or if you not feeling to confident with a full colour eye, you could use the Glimmerstick to add a colourful liner, either on the lid or under the eye.

I actually decided to go for a pop of blue last night to try out the new Soap & Glory liners I got. I was really pleased with them, really easy to apply and it lasted all night without irritating the eye!!

If you decide to go for a full smokey eye like Kaley and your not sure what colours will work use something like an eyeshadow quad like Loreal Colour Riche, it does all the colour selection for you for the perfect smokey eye. They are highly pigmented and you can buy from boots for £7.99 in a full range of colours, blues, pinks, greens. I'll be doing a beauty post soon on how to choose the best colours to bring out your eye colour.

Review Week - Soap & Glorys Crazy Sexy Khol

Another sale purchase for me was this Soap & Glory Crazy Sexy Kohl. I have been looking for a couple of colour liners so when I saw the aqua, blue and purple in this I really wanted to give them a whirl. I wasn't really interested in the shadows that came with it and they're not amazing but I will try them because I've never used any of their shadows before.

So here's what you get...

5 x waterproof liners

* super black
* cocoa bean
* aquabat
* blue my mind
* grapevine

3 x lid stuff eyeshadows

* aubersheen
* smokin
* dandy plum

Here's the swatches of the liners....
How gorgeous is that aquabat!!! Wowsers!! Really cream as well, very similar consistency to urban decays 24/7 liner.

Here's the swatches for the shadows...
As I said nothing too special about them, the black isn't very pigmented, so can't see me using that one. But I will try the others out on the lid and let you know what they're like for staying and not creasing etc.

Can't wait to try some looks with those liners though!

Do you like a colourful liner?

Winter Make Up!!

I've have been asked a lot recently what lipstick or eyeshadow I'm wearing, or what nail varnish I've got on so I thought this week would be all about my Winter Make Up Bag!

Today will be my go-to lipsticks of this season so far. I will however start with apologizing for the lighting in these pictures, I've been trying to find a good light all day to do these lip products justice, and bad lighting paired with taking pictures on my iPhone means they are not great! A problem I will try and fix ASAP!!

I thought I'd break the products down into the following -

Favourite :

Lip Balm
Nude
Party Lips
Gloss
Lipstick

My favourite lip balm at the moment is the Baby Lips by Maybelline, and I'm using Hydrate. Which I love, and always carry round with me to keep my lips hydrated on cold winter days. These are available in most drugstores and supermarkets, for around £2.99

My favourite Nude at the moment is Loreal Collection Privee by Julianne. This really is the perfect nude for me, and it's a really creamy formula that feels great on the lips. I think it's great they have a nude for every skin tone, they have six shades and they are around £8 from a drugstore.

My favorite party lips! This is my Ultimate favourite from Mac's dazzleglass range called Bare Necessity. This picture really doesn't do this product justice, it's so SPARKLY!!! You can wear it on its own like I have on the picture, or layer it over your favourite lipstick to add that extra special pop! It's £17.50 so you have to love it to buy it - which I do!!!

My favourite winter gloss. I've really been into deep berry shades recently so this gloss by Rimmel has to be my favourite. It glides on your lips, it's lightweight, it's not sticky and it smells GORGEOUS! Technically it's not a gloss it's a lip lacquer, but I would compare the high shine and applicator to a gloss. It comes in 13 colours, and this one is called Galaxy, and is around £6.50 in most drugstores.

My favourite winter lipstick! No surprises I've gone for a Soap & Glory product in this mix but this lipstick is my fave!!! Not normally one to go for a Matte but when I swatched this in boots I knew I had to have it!! It's their Super Colour FABU lipstick in powder coat matte in the colour Pom Pom for £9.00 in Boots, it only comes in 3 colours :-( but I love everything about it, including it's very stylish packing!

Those are my winter favourite lipsticks, what are some of you must haves for this time of year?

Beauty Tip of the Week - Eyebrow Week! Instant Eye Lift - No Surgery Required!!!

Today I will show you how to give yourself an instant eye lift without spending a fortune!!

Time to get out the highlighter again! I use Soap & Glorys Arch De Triumph (didn't realize how many soap and glory products I used until I started my beauty tips!) You can buy it HERE from Boots for £8.00.

All you need to do is draw a line of highlighter under the whole of your eyebrow and blend so there's no harsh lines.

Below are pictures, the top of each picture is without highlighter and the bottom is the highlighted/fake lifted eyes! It's only a subtle look, some people like it more defined, or more of a bright white color, I think the pink toned is better, less harsh. Unfortunately for me I have got eczema on my eyebrow bone so it's also highlighting that as well! :-(

Is this something you do already, or will try?

Beauty Review Friday - Eyebrow Week - Brow Archery by Soap & Glory

Yesterdays tip was how to fill in your brows, so todays review is what I have been using for the past couple of weeks to fill in mine.

Soap & Glory's - Archery, Brow Tint & Precision Pencil

I absolutely love this product!! I have used every day for the past couple of weeks, and I highly recommend it.

This is such an easy product to use so if your struggling with getting the right shape for your brows I would give this a go.

I like a natural look when it comes to my brows, but I feel like I have to put a lot of work in to cover up all the gaps and make them look full without making them look to thick and drawn on. When I got this to try at first I mainly used the pencil as I didn't have the right technique with the tint, but now I mainly use the tint and occasionally add the pencil when needed. I would say though if you like a fuller look this product is definitely buildable.

The tiny precision brush allows you to draw on individual thin hairs for a very natural look, with the tint making it last all day and night. I normally put my makeup on around 8am, and take it off around 10pm, I would touch up others parts of my make up when needed, but I can guarantee that I wont need to touch up my brows! Which for me is perfect, less to put in my already overcrowded bag!!

It comes in two colours, Love is Blonde & Brownie Points, I use Brownie Points and its a perfect match for me.

This is only £10.00 which I feel is a real bargain.

You can get from a boots store or click here to buy from boots online.

Nice work Soap & Glory!!!!!
